Parents Conduct Statement

3rd Grade Modified League

This year MYFA is offering a new league for our 3rd grade players (2018-19 school year). This league will blend the teaching of proper blocking and tackling to our 3rd grade players, without player to player contact. During practice players will be instructed on proper Shoulder Blocking and tacking with tackling/blocking dummies. Games wil then be played as a flag game using those techiques taught during the week, but play a flag based game during the season. This will allow players to grow into wearing equipment, practicing proper tackling and blocking without player to player contact at anytime.

What it the cost to play ?  
$100 ($115 after June 1st)

When does practice start ?
August 20th

When and where are games played?
Games start September 9th and will be played at the MYFA Complex

How much will the teams practice ?
3 Practices per week during the pre-season, 2 practices during the season

How long will practice be ? 
Each practice is limited to 1.5 hours each

When, where and what time will teams practice ? 
Dates, sites and times are set by the Head Coach

When and how many games will the team play ?
6 league games played on Sunday afternoon

How long are the games ?
2 -20 minute halfs will be played

When will the equipment be handed out?
Dates and times are posted on the MYFA web site

What equipment will be issued by MYFA to each player ?
Each player will be loaned the following items prior to the start of the season.

  • Helmet*
  • Shoudler Pads*
  • Game Jersey*
  • Mouth Guard
  • Practice Pants

* Returned to MYFA at the completion of the season

What equipment will each player need to provide ?
Players will wair shorts during practice and games, it is recomened that players wear a rubber/molder cleat. 

How many players will be on each team ? 
Games will be played with 8 players per team, team rosters will be between 12-16 players

Will players receive required playing time ?  
Required playing for each player will be inforced, actual playing time will be determined by team size
