John Pierce Memorial

MYFA lost a very good friend on February 26, 2009 with the passing of John Pierce. John’s impact on the league dates back to it’s inception in 1971 as one of the original founding members. In our first 38 years, if you were even remotely associated with Metro Youth Football, you no doubt came into contact with the man who touched so many lives and impacted so many more. John was so much more than a man who worked behind the scenes and distained any sort of recognition for all that he did for the program and the most important ingredient in the mix….your kids. Mere words cannot describe how much he meant to this program and to everyone that has been associated with it. There just isn’t enough space or adjectives in the dictionary to accurately describe the man and any attempt to do so would not be enough. His presence will always be felt and his legacy will continue to impact and inspire a future generation of MYFA participants and volunteers.

The JP logo found on all MYFA helmets is a simple remembrance of John Pierce, who passed away in 2009. John was a founding member of the Metro Youth Football Association and a lifelong volunteer.

Please enjoy the new John Pierce Memorial Patio. Sit down and take a moment to remember our dear friend and to see what has been accomplished during the past 40 years by all of the MYFA volunteers.

Thanks to King's Materials for their generousity in supplying materials for the John Pierce Memorial Patio.
