2026 Registration Is Now Open!
What is the cost? The cost for the season is broken down by division below. A three-day mini-camp is included with all registrations!
1st & 2nd Grade Flag: $109.00 (Registration closes 09/05/2026 | Season: 08/24/2026 – 10/25/2026)
3rd Grade Modified Flag: $237.00 (Registration closes 09/05/2026 | Season: 08/24/2026 – 10/25/2026)
4th Grade Tackle: $297.00 (Registration closes 09/05/2026 | Season: 08/24/2026 – 10/25/2026)
5th & 6th Combined Tackle: $297.00 (Registration closes 09/05/2026 | Season: 08/24/2026 – 10/25/2026)
LATE FEE NOTICE: There is a 20% late fee for all divisions for registrations after the team placement date. For 1st–6th grades, the late fee goes into effect starting August 15th.
Why the late fee and what is the "team placement date" for each division?
We have done this out of necessity to ensure we have coaches for teams and are able to maintain the appropriate number of players per team. The team placement date is August 15th for all 1st–6th grade divisions.
When will practice start? Practice for all divisions starts the week of August 24th, 2026.
Where will practice be? Practice locations, days of the week, and times are determined by your head coach. Typically, these practices are held in your local area.
Where are the games? Games are held at the MYFA Complex on A’hearn Drive in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and the Tuma Sports Complex in Marion.
When do games start and how long do they last? All games are scheduled for Sundays, running anywhere from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM depending on the total number of participating teams.
The first game day of the season is September 13th. Games last roughly 120 minutes for 4th–6th grades, and 60 minutes for 1st–3rd grades.
How long is the season? Our first week of games will be September 13th, and the final games of the season will take place on October 25th, 2026. the season is 7 weeks long however some teams may end their season before October 25th, 2026
When will the game schedule be available? Game schedules be available one week prior to the first games.
Is there assistance available to help with registration fees? Yes, we are willing to waive a portion of registration fees for families that qualify. Please contact my[email protected] for more information.
What equipment does my athlete need for the season? MYFA provides mouth guards, padded pants, shoulder pads, helmets, and Guardian Caps for all players. Rubber molded cleats are recommended but not required.
Can I request a specific coach? For the fall season, teams are assigned by school district attendance. All players will need to show proof of the grade and school they attend. No exceptions will be made for playing outside of current school boundaries.
When are team pictures taken? Picture Day is scheduled for September 13th. Please plan accordingly so that games do not get delayed.
Where is the best place to go for up-to-date information on your league and any scheduling changes? Our Facebook page is always the first place to go for weather-related changes and the latest news. Our website, metroyouthfootball.com, is also a great resource for additional league information.
What will the weight limit be for the combined 5th/6th grade division? The weight limit is set at 120.0 lbs. If an athlete weighs 120.0 lbs or under, they are eligible to be a ball carrier.
Will you continue to play a 5th quarter in the 5th/6th grade division? Yes, all MYFA teams are required to play a 5th quarter each game they play. Please plan accordingly.
WHAT'S NEW THIS YEAR?
Three-Day Mini-Camp: All players will have a three-day mini-camp included in their registration focused on the fundamentals of football. Each district will coordinate with MYFA to ensure these camps are scheduled and meaningful.
YSF Crossover Games: We will try to play crossover games with YSF. Times, matchups, and details are currently in the works. Please note that some travel to the Quad Cities will be required for some teams (approximately a 1-hour drive).
